Dr. Montreuil shares the findings of her recent research project collaboration where they examined the mental heath of nurses and physicians during the current pandemic. Results showed that there is an increase in stress and depressive symptoms, correlating with an increase in burnout. Potential stressors that may be contributing to this increase were found to be the concerns of becoming infected, balance between work and taking time off, as well as the work-life balance. Differences found between nurses and physicians in the current study are discussed as well.
